[Shift Reality and Manifest Anything in 6 Easy Steps]
Did you know that while you’re sleeping your thoughts and consciousness are still going?
This means we’re manifesting through our sleep, whether we like it or not! And if you’re not mindful about what you’re thinking, you may be manifesting things you don’t actually want in your life.
So, how do we avoid this? And even better, how do we utilise this sleep manifestation to shift reality and supercharge the manifestation of things we do want? The answer is pillow method shifting…
The Pillow Method is a manifestation technique used to shift reality and manifest goals and intentions in your life. You write a goal or intention on a piece of paper and place it under your pillow. You then charge your goal with positive energy using visualisation before going straight to sleep.
Pillow Method: A Step-by-Step Guide
Step One: Clarify Your Goal
You can use Pillow Method Shifting to manifest anything you wish. It could be a physical thing you want, a feeling you want to have, or something you want to happen.
When using Pillow Method to manifest, the first thing you need to do is to get very clear on what you want. As author, Constance Lane Arnold says, “When you are truly clear about what you want, the whole universe stands on tiptoe waiting to assist you in miraculous and amazing ways to manifest your dream or intention.”

Take some time to get very specific on your goal. If you’re vague about what you ask for, the Universe will be vague in what it gives to you. So, the clearer the better!
Clarity will also help you later on in the manifestation process when you begin to visualise your goal. You might like to journal your thoughts and ideas so that your goal becomes very clear and detailed.
For example, if you want to manifest a boyfriend, you don’t want any boyfriend! Be very specific on what he’s like, how he behaves, the things you do together. And of course, don’t forget to add that he is also available and interested!
When you first start manifesting, start with asking for something small. When you start it’s important that you think whatever you’re asking for is believable and possible for you.
The secret to success with manifesting is that you’re in the right energetic vibration. Aim for the vibration of optimism, excitement and positive anticipation.
Remember that what you give out, you’ll get back! If your energy vibrates at this high level, you will manifest things / people / experiences at a similar vibrational energy. This brings the good stuff you want in your life!
But, if you vibrate at the low energy of scarcity, scepticism and desperation… you can image what sort of things / people / experiences you will be manifesting in your life.

This is why, when you first start manifesting, I suggest starting with something small. Starting small will mean it’s believable for you, so that you can get behind it and get yourself into a great energetic vibration.
Once you’ve had some success, you’ll start to see how easy and powerful manifestation can be. This will strengthen and expand your belief about what’s possible for you. And so, you can begin to ask for bigger things to make manifest in your life, and genuinely believe that they’re possible for you.
Step Two: Write Your Goal Down
So, once you’re clear on your goal, write it on a piece of paper in the form of a positive statement.
It’s important that your statement is positive and says what you do want, not what you don’t want. i.e.
“Thank you Universe for my new loving partner. He is a creative and considerate person and I appreciate the love, fun and companionship we share every day.”
Or whatever resonates with you!
A couple of other tips when writing your goal:
- Ensure you write your goal in the present tense as if you already have it now i.e. ‘I am’, ‘I have’ or ‘I feel’ rather than ‘I will’.
- Add some gratitude to your statement as it immediately puts you in the right vibration to manifest. I like to start mine with “Thank you Universe for…”
Your goal can be as long or as short as you like, as long as it’s (i) stated in the positive (ii) written in the present tense (iii) includes gratitude.
That’s it – simple really!

Step Three: Get Ready For Sleep
Right, so now you’ve got your goal written down get yourself ready to go to sleep.
You’ll be doing this manifestation exercise and then going straight to sleep, so make sure you’ve done everything you need to do. No nipping out of bed to go to the loo, brush your teeth or check your phone – do this before you get into bed!
You can either hold your piece of paper next to your heart or put it under your pillow – I like to put mine in my pillowcase, so that I know where it is. Get yourself into a comfortable position lying down, with your palms open and facing up. Close your eyes and take a couple of deep breaths.
Step Four: Gratitude
Now, the next first thing is to get yourself into the right energetic vibration to manifest.
The quickest way I know to do this is gratitude. As bestselling author, Jen Sincero says,“Being in gratitude for the not-yet manifested informs the Universe that you know that what you desire already exists and puts you at the right frequency to receive it.”

Spend a couple of minutes thinking of things you’re grateful for today, they can be as big or as small as you like:
- Thank you for my eyes that opened this morning
- Thank you for the rain that watered my plants today
- Thank you for the Barista who smiled and was kind to me when I was getting my morning coffee
- Thank you for my dog who is always so happy to see me
- Thank you for the green traffic lights when I was late on the way to my client meeting this afternoon
Try to generate a feeling of genuine gratitude when you do this. At first it may feel a bit silly and that’s OK, it’s quite normal. Stick with it, and it’ll start to feel more real and genuine the more often you do it.

Step Five: Visualise Your Goal
Once you’re finished with your gratitude exercise start to think about your goal. Spend about 5-10 minutes visualising your goal.
Bring your goal to life and create a picture in your mind. What does it look like? How do you feel? What do you say? What do you do? Who do you see? What do they look like?
Imagine your goal as if you have it now, in the present tense, and use all your senses to bring it to life and create a visual imprint in your mind. Run through your visualisation 2-3 times so you become familiar with it and the details are vivid.
“When you visualize, then you materialize. If you’ve been there in the mind, you’ll go there in the body.”
Now, I know that some people find visualising a bit tricky and may think that they can’t do it. I encourage you to relax and not worry too much about visualising. The more uptight you get about it the harder you’ll find it.
Even if it feels a bit difficult right now, know that everyone can visualise. If I ask you to close your eyes and imagine a camel, I know you just saw or sensed
a camel. If I ask you to close your eyes and think of a toilet, I know you just saw or sensed something that was a toilet. So, you can visualise! Honestly, just make it up and pretend!
‘if I could visualise my goal of X what would it look like?’
Again, the more you practice, the easier it’ll get. One thing that may help, is to look at a picture or video of the thing you’re trying to visualise then close your eyes and bring the picture to your mind. Open your eyes and do it again.
Keep repeating this, and after a few times you’ll be able to bring the picture to your mind quickly and easily.
You’ll find visualising gets easier the more you do it. And honestly, don’t worry too much about this – as I said, just make it up and pretend, after all that’s all visualisation is really!
Step Six: Go to Sleep
Once you’ve done your visualisation, (or even as you’re still doing it) relax your energy and go to sleep. Let yourself float into sleep and dreaming and let the magic of manifestation begin!

Do this gratitude and visualisation exercise every night. You don’t need to re-write your goal every night. But keep visualising your goal until it starts to manifest in your life. (Or something even better manifests which often happens as the Universe has bigger plans for us than we often have for ourselves!)
How does Pillow Method work?
When you’re asleep your thoughts, your conscious and your super-conscious are still going and are manifesting through your dreams. Knowing this, we can utilise this process to help shift reality and manifest our desires much quicker and easier.
As we fall asleep, we transition from beta/alpha brainwaves to more the relaxed theta brainwaves. During these brainwaves we’re more susceptible to suggestion, and we can program the

If you think about it, we don’t choose our dreams. We go to sleep, and our dreams just happen. But by taking some pro-active steps before we go to sleep, we can prime our mind to focus on things we do want.
We do this by thinking about our goal, seeing it, feeling emotional about it and falling asleep on it. Sound familiar? This this is exactly how the Pillow Method works!
Does this Really Work?
The power of Pillow Method Shifting is that it charges your goal / intention with positive energy. It also sends a clear message out to the Universe about what you want and primes the unconscious mind what to focus on while you’re sleeping.
I’ve used Pillow Method to manifest all sorts of things. Everything from a feeling of calm and clarity during a job interview to a needed input of cash.
So, I know that Pillow Method does work! Whether you believe that this will work is the crucial ingredient which determines if it will work or not!
Which is where it’s a tad tricky… as if you’re sceptical and don’t believe it will work, you’ll be in the wrong energetic vibration and it won’t work. But if you believe it will work – it will. It’s sort of a self-fulfilling prophesy…
So, I encourage you to take a leap of faith and believe that it can work for you!

What I love about Pillow Method Shifting is it’s one of those manifestation methods that’s quick and simple and can become part of your night-time routine.
You can start small, and as your belief system grows and expands, you can work up to asking for bigger things to manifest.
